Primary School

Primary School

The relationship between Associazione Giochi Antichi and schools offers the opportunity to reflect on  traditional games and education.

The Association makes available to schools their own research, studies and tools to extend knowledge on the meaning and value of game.

Each game provides insight in a different aspect of reality. You can play with everything: clouds, stones, food, words, computers, and your own body.

It is possible to build a custom program in which strategies, contents and activities meet the participants’ expectations and their different levels of study.

The proposals and itineraries listed below can be adapted to the school program.

KIDS SQUARE
The project involves both primary and  secondary school students. High School students from C. Montanari, A. IPSSAR Berti, U. dell'ISSIA Boccioni,  N. Nani  and ITS L. Einaudi, guide primary school students through the city while dealing  with topics relevant to their studies.

LABORATORIES

The teacher will be provided  with educational material in advance in order to improve the learning experience.

  • One history, many games
Activities for Primary School students
Target Audience: 3rd, 4th, 5th class of primary school; Through the reconstruction of ancient games, the curiosity of students is stimulated, encouraging them to learn about the historical context. Our research offers the opportunity to play games that may have been forgotten. More specifically: "The prehistory of game", "Play with the Egyptians and the Greeks," "Games in ancient Rome." This work of historical reconstruction shows the historical and anthropological value of game, next to the recreational, cultural and educational one.
