Documentation Centre
The center is open to anyone who shows interest in game. We offer educational courses, meetings and workshops with scholars and experts in the field.
Our purpose is to create an international meeting center where all fans of traditional game can find information, and other people to play with.
Casa Colombare welcomes students, educators (teachers, psychologists, psychiatrists, animators, social workers), players and fans of traditional culture. It contains a collection of Italian and foreign texts and magazines on game, alongside a collection of videos and documentaries on traditional game communities and a collection of traditional game tools.
The Associazione Giochi Antichi has been engaged for years in the research and documentation on game culture. The Documentation Center is the product of this research and its activities promote cultural preservation.
The documentation center aims to:
- promote the conservation and enhancement of scientific, historical, artistic, and library resources on traditional game culture;
- promote educational and social activities on the history of game;
- carry out research on the history of traditional game and its players;
- promote protection and conservation of material evidence of the history and tradition of game (such as archives and documents stored in public institutions);
- develop collaborations and exchanges with other institutions and public or private Italian and foreign companies working in the field.
